If you just need a few days of downtime, there's no better spot in which to do nothing. Le Couvent is an old convent school perched on the side of a beautiful valley above a small hamlet and river. The delightful house, grounds and most of all the view trigger feelings of peace and relaxation. A perfect place to unwind and recharge your batteries.

“This is a very, very special place” Katharine Whitehorn, Observer journalist and agony aunt for Saga magazine.

All with a wonderful view, there are 3 big, comfortable bedrooms (one double, one twin and one family room with a double and two singles), each has private bathroom, writing table and easy chairs, wonderful bed linen, coffee and tea, flowers and scented candles. The first floor salon is a quiet room for reading, writing or reflection. Downstairs, the living room and garden room are where you will eat, chat or even watch TV.

You can stay ‘at home’ for delicious breakfasts, lunches and dinners in the garden room or on the terrace, in the garden or pergola with excellent British, French and mediterranean-style food and wine, always with local and seasonal produce used as a preference. Or eat out in one of the local workers’ cafes, bistros or excellent restaurants. Picnic lunches are also available. Le Couvent and neighbours hold regular wine and cheese tasting evenings – just for the fun. Join us.

Excellent wifi throughout the house and Smart TV with English channels for those who like to stay connected.
